Through their nationally-recognized, award-winning work, personal commitment to excellent craftsmanship and their professional creed of delivering projects on-time and on-budget, Reis and Laura Calfayan have built Calfayan Construction into one of the nation's top 50 remodeling companies, earning the prestigious Big 50 Award in 2005.
Using a comprehensive planning process that encompasses and accounts for the detailed construction, finishing, and design work of each and every project, Calfayan is known for reliability and accountability in an industry notorious for overruns and delays. "Proper planning prevents poor performance" is the company's working motto.
Reis has worked in construction since 1980, learning from master craftsmen in historical restoration and finishing techniques. His military experience in the U.S. Army as a demolition expert and later work rehabbing Section 8 and HUD housing taught him how to envision, plan, build, budget, and manage every type of remodel, renovation or new construction project.
Evolving from Reis' Calfayan Custom Carpentry (1993), Calfayan Construction was founded in 2000 when Laura assumed ownership and Reis became Operations Manager. Today, Calfayan uses high-tech, energy-efficient, innovative building processes while respecting the environment and recycling/reusing materials from demolition.
From concept and design through construction and finishing, the Calfayan team works closely with clients, managing the work of all sub-contractors with a deadline-driven, fixed-price contract. Calfayan delivers high-end projects with the finest materials and multi-faceted creative details, customized to fit each customer's budget.
