Design and Inspiration
An architect from a previous project recommended Calfayan to the homeowners. Working closely with Down2Earth Designs, we brought the client’s vision to life, completing the bathroom remodel in just two months.
The Construction Process
During the initial consultation, the Calfayan team took the time to understand the homeowners’ needs, aesthetic preferences, and the challenges of the space. One major requirement was significantly increasing the bathroom’s square footage. To achieve this, we removed part of the adjoining bedroom, creating space for a walk-in shower.
The original 45-square-foot bathroom, which featured a small, closet-style shower, was expanded to approximately 107 square feet. The new design includes a luxurious 67-inch soaking tub and a spacious shower. To optimize functionality, we added elegant inset niches near the double vanity, providing ample storage and enhancing the spa-like atmosphere.
In the primary bedroom, we reframed the wall adjoining the bathroom and installed custom cabinetry. This modern solution replaced traditional dressers, streamlining the space and giving it a sleek, updated look.
We Overcame Every Obstacle
The Calfayan team encountered a minor challenge with the existing roof rafters, which required them to modify the vanity area. We worked closely with the designer to find creative solutions that maintained the integrity of the design.
To make the most of the space, we removed a window that neither matched the home’s other windows nor provided significant natural light. This change allowed us to create much-needed wall space while maintaining a bright and airy atmosphere in the bathroom.
